San Juan Diego Scholarship Application

Thank you very much for your interest in the San Juan Diego (SJD) Scholarship. 

The 2025-2026 application cycle is now closed. Updates for the 2026-2027 application cycle will be posted in 2026. 

Who can apply?

Student applying for the San Juan Diego Scholarship must meet all eligibility criteria and complete all application requirements. 

1. Be either (a) a high school who would be attending Santa Clara University (SCU) as a first year college student in the 2026-2027 academic year or (b) a transfer student from a community college entering SCU; 

2. Apply and be admitted to SCU as a first-year or transfer student;

3. Demonstrate serious financial need, demonstrated by the SCU Financial Aid Office;

4. Demonstrate leadership and community service;

5. Submit a completed application by the application deadline; and

6. Attend at least 1 information session. 

Scholar Responsibilities

1. Maintain a minimum of a 2.5 GPA while at SCU;

2. Be an active member of the San Juan Diego Scholarship Committee;

3. Participate in SCU’s LEAD Scholars Program (if invited);

4. Be an active volunteer in the Sacred Heart or the Washington/Gardner community;

5. Be an educational ambassador by mentoring youth to pursue higher education; and

6. Sign and comply with the SJD Committee agreement.
